Day 26

Blah cleaning so no garden today but I have had a few requests for updated house pics... so since it was all nice and tidy... well nearly!

*hugs*  Sarah

Day 25

The Strawberries still growing well.  The chives are slowly growing bigger.
Brandon did a check on all of his plants :-)

Grandpop's Tomatoes are growing nicely in the greenhouse and Brandon believes he spies the first onions in the tray he planted... along with a few more leaves on the Rainbow Chard!

Some red and some yellow Chard :-)  and the three colour beans are looking well despite the cooler weather.

In Tom's bed his Beetroot is going well and two rows of carrots have just popped up!  I have a feeling will have a good deal of baby carrots to thin the bed.

On watering he front garden we discovered some of the Rhubarb doing well (Left) and some has been eaten away (right)... here was I thinking nothing would eat it!
Tom did a front garden check... Sage (centre) and we spied a few broad beans too.. not potatoes yes though!

Day 24

Ok I am playing catch up... things got really busy... You will see why and unfortunately not in the garden! :-p

Day 24 I walked into the garden for a little bit but not long at all!

The Carrots popped out their real leaves and what I thought were carrots in Tom's bed turned out to be beetroot I think... His labels are a little wonky ;-)

Then I walked inside to put something in Brandon's Room... well that was the end of all Gardening for me for a while.... hmmmm

Yep that is what Brandon's room turned into and I knew there was no way on earth he could tidy it... all those bits of lego and toys get sooooo distracting!
So with a little (LOT) or work and a giant sized garbage bag it turned into this!

Post it notes are brilliant for helping organise the lego sets and "cubes"...  Brandy has been popping lego from sets into their cubes so we might be able to get operation rebuild underway :-)

Feels good to have it done!

Day 23

G'day, quiet day today, the boys have been on scooters and "out bush" with their friends.  I managed to get in some Nasturtiums in a planter box... I know it isn't that time of year but worth a try :-)  The carrots have popped up their secondary leaves so slow and steady...   Oh and got another foam box from a lovely lady named Vicky today so we can make another lettuce hydroponic box woo hooo... That's it from me today...  *hugs* Sarah

Day 22

Well again very little time in the actual garden... hopefully tomorrow!  We did however end up in K-mart and bunnings... my little garden bug decided we had to goto the garden section of K-Mart... who am I to argue?
We got another stevia seed pot so we will retry that and Brandon had to have some MORE seeds lol... Nasturtiums, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage... I have no idea what to do with all these seeds germinate!  We also got a balcony hanger and planter.  Then we went in search of Brandon's Chocolate Mint in Bunnings... they still didn't have it but are going to call us when they do (which made Brandon very happy)... I found some more pink flowering strawberries in the advanced seedlings so we bought a punnet since I don't think we can produce enough strawberries to supply the boys no matter how many we have lol...

Ok photos from yesterday:

Brandon found several baby crickets on the yellow sticky trap so was quite chuffed!

Speaking of Chuffed... our strawberry pot we had started to think was a no show had a tiny sign of life yesterday... so a very happy Brandon (and Tom grinned like a cheshire cat when I told him - he was too busy at the time).

We have chives... still teeny tiny but all signs of life appreciated!

Brandon planted *more* seeds.... lettuces, tatsoi and rocket... there are also two mystery pots with no labels hmmmm...

Mr Tom working on drilling plastic cups to make more seedling/hydroponics pots...

That's it from me today *hugs*  Sarah

Day 21... Three Weeks in!

I woke to the boys headed outside into the FREEZING cold at 6am to check to see if their beans has frozen then whoops of joy when they found them still okay!  Goodness knows what my Neighbours think!

Well blogger won't allow me to upload any photo's so a quick blurb...

I didn't get in the garden much... Toothache then Dentist... but I did supervise the boys a little... Brandon was busy planting seeds.... we are in trouble if all of them come to fruition!  Yellow Leafed Lettuce and Rocket got planted...

Tom drilled some more cups and did some plumbing on the retic... very busy busy!

That's it from me...

Day TWENTY!

Today it was cold and rainy.... perfect day for my seedlings but not for me with a broken tooth!  Ohhh Cold air is horrible.

I didn't even have to water today and all of the "saucers" I put out yesterday are full!

Hoping the lovely rain will work its magic and make everything grow a whole lot quicker.

The boys did the check everything grew tour... yes Brandon still has running totals going!  Not sure his beans will still be growing new leaves tomorrow since it is going to be 2C!  BRRRRR!!!

The boys went to the strawberries and thinking I couldn't hear decided which belonged to whom... I have a feeling Chris and I aren't getting any!

One of the mint plants I was worried about I am no longer worried since it has decided it wants to escape out of the bottom of the pot instead of top!

Once again I rescued some pots from being crushed by the roadside collection... hopefully this weekend we will get them filled ;-)

Have a lovely day /night *hugs* Sarah
